About Me

I am a fun, sometimes boring person. I am an outgoing, shy kind of girl. I'm pretty easy going when I am not being uptight. All in all, I am a walking, talking, contradiction.

Sandwich Maker

I've never doubted that I married the right person. But every once in a while, I get little reminders that I've got a keeper.

One of the many things that I love about David is that he is not a morning grump. Actually anytime he is even tired he just mostly gets quiet but never irritated or angry like I do. I love this about him because if I am ever tossing and turning at night and I accidentally wake him up or if I need him to get up and do something, he is always very sweet about it.

In the mornings, when I am in my usual hurry to get ready for work, lately I haven't been able to make myself a lunch before having to run out the door. I've been having to wake up my poor husband each day at around 7:00 to have him get up and make me a sandwich because of my bad habit of waking up late.(David works mostly from home so he doesn't have to wake up as early as the most of us.) Each time I wake him up, I expect him to react like I would but he always  surprises me by getting out of bed with no complaint and making my sandwich with a happy-sleepy attitude.

There are many things David does that I probably don't thank him for or recognize enough. And I know I need to get better because I am one lucky girl.

I love you babe!

MARRIED!!!

So this update is about a month late but I blame my cute new husband for that. For some weird reason, in our apartment, the internet does not like my laptop and refuses to connect to it. Since I work all day, I've been asking David to get it fixed for a month now but he just hasn't gotten to it. What else does he have to do all day? Go to meetings? Write scripts for the new clients? Film all day? Psshh...

Anyway, WE'RE MARRIED!!!

This post isn't going to be the whole thing but I figured I'd better blog something so that I have to actually come back and finish it. Life has been a crazy bunch of adjustments but a fun ride so far.

We got married on October 21, 2011 in the Sacramento Temple. It was beautiful. Many of David's sweet family members made the trip to be there and we couldn't be more grateful. Many of my amazing family and friends were there also to make the day complete. Other than a couple of hiccups in the morning, the day went very smoothly. The nice thing about being the one getting married is that you get to relax and let everyone else help. And I had no shortage of great people more than willing to set up and take down and everything else in between.

The honeymoon was a pure adventure. I had never been to Mexico and it had been a while since I had spent time at the beach so the whole week in tropical paradise was a week to remember. We found so much to do and I experienced so many new things, but I'd have to say that one of my favorite things about it  was hearing Dave speaking Spanish everywhere we went. He served his mission in Venezuela so it was cute to see him making conversation with the locals and it definitely made me feel good to know that wherever we went, we would be able to communicate to people. I will blog more and post pics later.

Like I said earlier, it's all about the adjustments right now. Living with a boy who has had very little experience with living with girls (David has 6 brothers and his oldest sister moved out when he was young and by the time he moved out, his younger sister was still pretty little) has me nagging about things like putting the toilet seat down and rinsing away facial hair clippings in the sink. But regardless of all the day to day changes of sharing space and dealing with two different opinions on EVERYTHING, life has also been absolutely wonderful. I could not imagine a more sweet, caring, patient, sacrificing, totally entertaining man to marry.

Married life is truly going to be an adventure and I am excited to get to weather the storms and revel in the bliss with an amazing person by my side.

Engagement pictures

Here are some of the engagements David and I took. Nathaniel Edwards was our fabulous photographer and we took the pictures along Geneva Road in Provo.

Eleven more days until I get to marry this goofy, sweet, wonderful man and I can't wait!

Tattoo time!

So about a month ago, my parents and my sisters made a trip out here to help me with the wedding plans. During that time, we got lots done and were even able to spend some non wedding related time all together at James and Megan's. I love going to their place to kick back, eat great food, and be constantly entertained by their little boy Koby. He's at the age right now where he is no longer shy and talks a lot and is always doing things to make us laugh.

This particular time, while we were checking out his new room (James and Megan just moved to a new place in Eagle Mountain), he ran in with a little box and scissors. I was first alarmed about the fact that the two year old was holding scissor but after a minute, he looked like he was pretty experienced with what he was doing. In the box was a bunch of sheets and some already cut up pieces of fake stick-on tattoos. For a while now I noticed that each time I saw him, he had at least a couple of pictures stuck on his skin of dragons or tribal symbols and it was pretty funny to me. Now I saw where his supply came from and I couldn't blame the kid for being decorated at all times.

Anyway, after picking out a cool little design, he stripped off the plastic cover and before I knew what was going on, he had slapped it on my ankle and was rubbing a wet towel on top of it. "Now you have tattoo like Koby!" He looked pretty proud of himself. Well after that, no one was safe. Mom got a heart on her calf, James got a heart on his upper arm, Dad got some weird circle-y thing on his arm, Megan got a little heart thing too, and Dave got something on his inner arm that I can't even figure out what it was. I even ambushed Karen by slapping one on her leg while she was watching TV downstairs.

At the end of the night, I couldn't choose who had the best tattoo...Koby's Mike Tyson face tattoo, or baby Lincoln's rad lion thigh tattoo.

I don't know what kind of long term effects fake tattoos have on kids, but I'll tell you one thing: It makes for a great night of family fun!
